Okay so I know by now, this kind of idea isn’t new. But I really like it so I’m doing it anyway!
I totally love the idea of taking a picture every day, so I’m starting the Hilary Project 365. It’s actually fantastic timing. On August
15th, it was the one year anniversary of me moving out of the home I shared with my now-ex. We were together for 5 ½ years, all of my early twenties, and it was a huge step in gaining my independence and cultivating some confidence. It’s been a year since then, and an incredibly hard one at that. One of those hardships has been getting sick, which has really changed a lot of the plans I had for my life. So I’ve decided to capture a year in photos, starting on August 15, 2010.
August 15, 2010: This is my parent’s kitten, Zsa Zsa, killing a mouse (toy, obvious). It seems appropriate to start this project with
a cat photo. She was one of the kittens I fostered, and my parents fell in love with her big Bambi eyes.
August 16, 2010: This is a photo of the entrance to my parent’s backyard. My dad built the arch and saloon doors, and planted a couple Virginia Creepers to grow over it. Whenever I pass under it, it always reminds me of Fred Penner. If you were a Canadian child born in the 80s, you’ll remember Fred Penner. He used to always start the show by going through a forest and then through a log. I always get the sense I’m entering a magical cozy place whenever I walk through it.
(My blog titles are USUALLY song titles. But for this Project 365, I will just be calling each post with it’s picture number. My non-Project 365 posts will still be song titles.)
